Ideas

I have a few books on improvisation, including The Art of Is by Stephen Nachmanovitch and Impro for Storytellers by Keith Johnstone. I’m thinking of posting on these in the Notes and Reflections category and then perhaps a creating a post for the Essays and Explorations category summarising what I’ve learned and listing ideas for applying improvisational methods to solo gaming and other creative projects.

I’m planning to work through Walking in This World by Julia Cameron this year, probably starting in April. I’ll write up my reflections in a similar format to my Artist’s Way diary.

I’ve bought a book called Theory and Practice of Creativity Measurement – I’m interested to find out what it covers and whether there are measures I can use on myself as I test various forms of creativity advice.

Another potential topic for a future essay is visual thinking.

I’m interested in the process of creative incubation – I’d like to read more about it, and I’m thinking about ways to set up some experiments. There are several books on the topic that I’m interested in reading… but I still need to get hold of them.
